Day 2 continues.... and it a sunday! Wake up next morning at around 6 plus, get myself refresh and headed downstair to have my buffet breakfast. There is a variety of food, like Taiwan famous 滷肉飯 (braised pork rice), some fried noodles, self-service toast, fries, harsh brown, salad. So this is what I grab... braised pork rice and salad.

After a light breakfast, headed to 中正紀念堂 (Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall) by train which is a few stops away from the place I am staying.

As it will be a pretty long day ahead, thus decided to book for a one day cab service. First, went to
十分老街 (shifen old street) to put sky lanterns. You can write your wishes on this lanterns and then with that, the higher the lantern goes, your wishes will come true! Here is my lantern flying up high! :)

That's for myself!

Wishes to my family!

My lantern fly up high!

Not forgetting the 十分瀑布 (Shifen Waterfall)

Then headed to 九份 (jiufen) for some food, sceneries and more fun! Here we have a candy shop selling handmade candies made up of malt and sugar that comes with different flavours.

Must eat items introduce by our taiwanese cab uncle. Here we have  九份張記傳統魚丸 (Jiufen traditional fish balls), 绍兴醉鸡 (Shaoxing wine drunken chicken) and fried glass noodles. To be honest, the fishball and glass noodles taste ok but for the shaoxing wine drunken chicken I don't really like and I still love our singapore hainanese chicken better!

This is the true local taiwan sausage. Look way different from the ones you see in singapore pasar malum right? So now you know it look like that and of coz it taste much more better than singapore one!

This is a must eat item at jiufen!!! milk ice cream with peanut wrap in a popiah skin. You won't regret purchasing this! So heavenly nice~

There are a few taro rice ball stalls here at jiufen. I got mine from Lai Ah Po Yu Yuan (赖阿婆芋圆) stall, one of the pretty famous taro rice ball stall in jiufen. You got to try these taro rice balls! It's pretty chewy and comes in orginal taro, sweet potato and green tea flavours!

Because jiufen is located up the hilltop so you can clearly see lovely sceneries right here in front of you... When will you get to see such sceneries in Singapore... no way!

Continue hunting for more food and snacks, I actually came across this cosplay shop where you pay a small amount of $ and you get to dress up yourself in different outfits! 1,2,3.... Transform!  I am now a ge ge (ancient princess). Wahaha!

Then, I am an aviator!

Transform again to a taiwan school girl... Don't know how long I never wear a school uniform already.

Nearby jiufen, there are a few interesting mountains... First up, the 黃金瀑布 (Golden Waterfall). Do you know why there are little waterfall coming out of this mountain? The driver actually tell us that people used to do  mineral mining here long long time ago and thus hole are created while digging and water flow out since then which explains why.

Next, the famous 黑金剛大山 (black king kong mountain). Why is it called black king kong? Because it look like a king kong of course! You got to come yourself to see it clearly.

and this is the most mangificant sea called the 陰陽海 (Ying Yang Sea). This is so cool and pretty! Two different colours appearing on the surface of the water, brown and blue!
After all the sight-seeing and food, raohe night market was our last destination for the day... So I am like a pig hunting for more food!

Here, i have 甜不辣 (sweet not spicy). It taste like fish cake but better than that. You got to try to know what I mean. Normally the 甜不辣 selling at most taiwan street markets, they are fried. At raohe night market, finally I find something different. This one is a mixture of 甜不辣 with 豬血糕 (pig's blood cake), 豆干 (A firmer variety of tofu) and raddish. Not bad!
Ok, this one is cheese potato! I crave for this so sos long! Everytime I watch taiwan variety show on Singapore tv channel, people are queuing for this thing! What I can say is so-so. Just plainly potato with cheese and bacon on top...

The 臭豆腐 (smelly tofu). You must eat the smelly tofu while it is hot so that the smell is not that strong. Nice!

Beef soup.
One of the famous taiwan street food, 蚵仔煎 (Oyster egg omelette)! This one comes with prawn and squid. I still love our singapore oyster omelette though! Taiwanese oyster egg omelette is sweet because they top it up with some sweet sauce which I don't know what is in it and it is not as crispy. As for singapore version, ours is so crispy and we dip it together with chilli.

The next must eat is the mango ice in taiwan! NICE! Mango is in big pieces not like in Singapore so small.

How adorable are these sponge cakes... Hello kitty, luffy, gary from spongebob and hearts. Actually I saw the hellokitty, that's why I decided to buy this
